المدينة عمرها ما بتنام. الليلة دي، هي بتسمع.
إنت سمعت ده؟ في حد على الباب.
اهدي. ده المطر بس. على ما أظن.
01Choosing a voice
Egypt is the largest Arabic-speaking country, and its dialect travels: viewers from Morocco to the Gulf grew up with Egyptian films and series. That makes Egyptian Arabic the strongest dialect choice for social content aimed at several Arab countries at once.
Write the script the way Egyptians speak: “إزيك”, “عامل إيه”, “دلوقتي”. For formal content, Modern Standard Arabic read by an Egyptian voice still sounds familiar to Egyptian viewers.
