04Questions
Before you start.
Text to speech is directed with controls; the voice changer is directed by performance. You act the line, and Leelo changes the voice while keeping everything about how you said it. Here's when to use it and how.
When performance beats direction
Some lines are hard to describe but easy to perform: a sarcastic aside, a line that speeds up as it gets angry, a laugh in the middle of a sentence. Record it the way you hear it, and the voice changer keeps your timing, pauses, emphasis and emotion.
Choosing the target voice
Pick any voice from the library, a voice you designed, or your own clone. For characters, design the voice first and then perform through it. That's how many creators voice a whole cast on their own.
Recording tips
Record clean: a quiet room and a steady distance from the microphone. Noise and echo carry through, so clean up noisy takes first. Exaggerate slightly; performances read a little flatter after conversion.
Rules
You can use library voices, voices you designed, and voices cloned with the speaker's permission. Using the voice changer to impersonate a real person is against our terms.
