01Choosing a voice
Argentine Spanish is one of the most recognisable accents in the Spanish-speaking world: the “sh” sound in “calle” and “yo”, a melody often compared to Italian, and “vos” instead of “tú”. To an audience in Argentina or Uruguay, a neutral Latin American voice sounds foreign; an Argentine one sounds like home.
Write the script in Argentine Spanish too: “vos tenés”, “vos podés”, “che”, “laburo”. A script in “tú tienes” read with an Argentine accent sounds wrong to locals.
